The Kombi Translation Services team
My name is John Tagne. I graduated from the University of Lille with a Master’s degree in Multilingual Specialised Translation in 2016 and I also hold a Master’s in Advanced European and International Studies (DHEEI) from the Centre International de Formation Européenne (CIFE) in Nice, France. I also have a vocational certificate in web content writing and copywriting awarded by Le Comptoir des Rédacteurs, a distance learning centre in France that specialises in digital marketing. I am the founder and promoter of Kombi Translation Services.
Since launching my career as a German and English to French freelance translator in 2017, I have worked on the translations of more than thirty websites and apps. So far, I have had the pleasure of working with some of the big names in the translation world as well as some of the industry leaders in France, Europe and further afield.
My open-mindedness and determination are rivalled only by the precision with which I work on every translation, from the smallest to the very largest of projects. You can contact me any time for high-quality service that is tailored to your individual requirements.
As translation is an act of communication, it can only truly be successful if it is interactive and dynamic. That’s where I come in. As your point of contact, you can count on me to take care of your communication needs. To do so, I work closely with my expert team of meticulous professional translators who, like me, each have at least five years of experience under their belts.
The Kombi translation process
As translation professionals and experts, we approach every request on an individual and personalised basis that is tailored to the project and client in question. From the initial guidance and instructions to the translation tools used, projects vary considerably from one client to the next, but they are always handled with the utmost care so that your translation is perfectly suited to its purpose.
The Kombi method step by step:
● Initial contact and quote: we discuss your translation project and your needs by email or by telephone. You set out your expectations in terms of quality and together we decide on an appropriate price and deadline.
● Subject research: we read through your documents and carry out research on the topic in both the source language and the target language. If your text is confidential or of a highly specialised nature, we may ask you to provide us with reference documents. This allows us to familiarise ourselves with the subject or industry as well as the terminology used.
● Translation and questions: in this fundamental step of the process, we reformulate your text in the target language and carefully adapt it to the conventions of the target culture. During this stage, we take care to closely adhere to the instructions and guidance given at the start of the project. Additionally, to ensure that we convey your ideas most effectively and that our work is consistently in line with your requirements, we will contact you where necessary in order to clarify certain aspects and to keep you up to speed on our progress.
● Proofreading and editing: once the translation is finished, we move onto the final phase – arguably the most important and most rigorous step of the process – which consists of rereading the entire translation and making the necessary corrections. This allows us to correct any minor typing, punctuation or terminology errors and any stylistic issues, to ensure the overall consistency of the text and, ultimately, to check that the translation as a whole meets your communication requirements.
● Delivery: in this final phase, you receive the translated and finalised documents which are now ready for use. You check the text and provide us with feedback in the form of comments. If you would like us to make any modifications, we will do so as a matter of priority in order to ensure your complete satisfaction.
